Google Home Does not play music, only ads Submitted by colin28 on 2018-03-08 07:30 PM The spotify app on google home only plays ads, this can be requested either through the home, or cromecast via desktop or android. Spotify voice recognition hands free. I have a different issue - in google home under services I have youtube music subscription selected, and when I ask google home mini to play music, it works - plays music from YTM, however when I want to cast to a device from my phone, it keeps saying 'You need to have a youtube premium subscription', when I click the 'get now' link - it shows I have premium already.
